Bench-top Assay Assembly and Detection

Once the gCard reservoirs are loaded with the appropriate samples and reagents, the gStack is loaded into the instrument and run. No user intervention is required before analysis. The SpinX Lab instrument combines liquid handling and fluorescent readout in a bench-top device. Its connection to the outside world is limited to a network interface, used for software communications, and a loader for the stack of cards. Liquid handling is performed by spinning the loaded cards to generate the centripetal force which drives the liquid samples through the channels, and by creating Virtual Laser Valves. The readout modality is application-specific, using fluorescence (including FRET) or Time Resolved Fluorescence (including TR-FRET).
